Miserere by Allegri

I have copied the text in Latin and added the English translation from the bible. It is psalm 51 I think. Underneath that I have put my own Transpersonal, spiritual and non religious interpretation. this is, of course personal to me and my own healing journey.

I’m posting this as I have found myself deeply attracted to and moved by this music. It came back into my life just this week. I though I’d lost the cd and then it just turned up! apparently just when I needed it most. I found myself so deeply affected by the music that I had to look up the words and the translation to see if they also meant anything to me. they really do.

Here are the words in Latin, English and Hara speak!

Miserere mei Deus: Secundum magnum misericordium tuam

Have mercy upon me, oh God, after thy great goodness

bless me with your infinite love and mercy

Et secundum multitudinem miserationum tuarum, dele iniquitatem meam

According to the multitude of thy mercies do away mine offences

Let the depth of your love, compassion and forgiveness heal my fear and pain

Amplius lava me abiniquitate mea: et a peccato meo munda me.

Wash me thoroughly from my wickedness and cleanse me from my sin.

Wash away my fears and doubts, the things that keep me from knowing  love, peace and wholeness

Quoniam iniquitatem meam ego cognosco: et peccatum meam contra me est semper.

For I acknowledge my faults and my sin is ever before me.

For I know that fear, pain and doubts always arise in me.

Quoniam si voluisses sacrificium, dedissem utique: holocaustis non delectaberis.

For thou desirest no sacrifice else I would give it to thee, but thou desirest not burnt offerings.

You do not wish us to suffer.

Sacrificium Deo spiritus contribulatus: cor contritum, et humiliatum, Deus, non despicies.

The sacrifice of God is a troubled spirit: a broken and contrite heart, One God shalt Thou not despise.

Our troubled spirit and painful feelings show us when we have lost our connection to Your Love.

Benigne fac, Domine in bona voluntate tua Sion: ut aedificentur muri Ierusalem.

O be favourable and gracious u to Zion: build Thou the walls of Jerusalem.

O great spirit help us to create a home, a place for all people created together in love and peace.

Tunc acceptabis msacroficium justitiae, oblationes, et holocausta: Tunc imponent super altare tuum vitulos.

Then shalt Thou be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness with the burnt offerings and oblationes: then shall they offer young bullocks upon Thine altar.

When we have found our way home from fear back to love then can we celebrate and all be happy together.
